Tell us briefly about yourself
I am a curious country boy at heart. Growing up in rural NSW, working in rural and remote education before living and working overseas in the Middle East and South East Asia for 13 years. In 2011, I became fascinated by the impact of social media on organisations and started Kai Ming Consulting.
What area of social media do you specialise in?
I support organisations from government, education, non-profit and corporate sectors specialising in social media policy, auditing, implementation, risk and crisis management, professional learning and niche innovative projects.
Why do you love social media?
I enjoy observing, hence the name the ‘social media sociologist’. If we can successfully understand the risks of social media, I believe social media has enormous potential. We just need to get creative.
What is your favourite social media platform?
I can't split them - Facebook and Twitter.
What is your tip for social media in 2018?
Keep it safe, be creative, acknowledge the negatives, push the positives, and look for opportunities to use social media for social good.
