Judging Process

What is the judging process?

Once the call for nominations is closed, we then process all the nominations and assign them to the different judging panels. Judges access the assigned nominations through a password protected login.

All submissions will be kept private and confidential.

Each nomination is evaluated and receives a score out of 100.  In the event of a tie in a category/sub-category, the head of the particular judging panel casts the deciding vote.

The judging panels can only choose a maximum of 5 finalists for each sub category, including one winner.   There needs to be a minimum of 2 nominees per sub category for it to run.  Any sub category with less than 2 entries will not be judged and the entry fee and submission will be returned to the nominee.

The finalists will be notified by email on Friday, 30th June. They will also receive a badge to put on their website that nominates them as a finalist for their Category/Sub Category.

Unsuccessful entries are notified on Saturday 1st July, 2017 by email.

Who are the judges?

We are assembling several panels of judges to participate in evaluating the entries for the different categories and sub categories. These judges come from both industry and agencies.  We have invited some of the judges and have also asked for judges to nominate.  Judges cannot enter any of the categories to ensure their is no bias.

Winners of the Social Media Marketing awards will be invited to become a member of the judging panels in future years.

Conflict of Interest

We want to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest in the judging process.  We do everything in our power to make sure that the judges on the several judging panels have no financial or business relationship with the nominees.  We want the process to be as fair as possible.  We will be releasing the names of the judges in mid 2017.  If you have any questions or wish to join our panel of judges, please contact us by email on awards@smminstitute.com.au
