If you heard a cheer from social media managers and influencers around the world, it is because a feature we have wanted for so long on Instagram is finally here - you can now schedule Instagram posts!
Instagram has updated the Instagram API to the Instagram graph API built on Facebook Graph API. New features allow businesses to schedule posts, view posts they have been tagged in and view other business profiles.
Currently it is only for photos and not videos.
To harness the power of this new feature, you also can only schedule using a subscription service like Hootsuite, Sprout Social and other Facebook and Instagram Marketing Partners.
This will allow marketers to better plan and manage their content.
Ryan Holmes, the CEO of Hootsuite said:
"Scheduling and publishing of Instagram content has been the number one request for our 16 million customers. Now, they can manage large volumes of content, multiple team members, and multiple Instagram accounts with ease and security. Hootsuite is excited to launch our new integration with Instagram to help our customers achieve their business goals and succeed with social"
